What does it mean to be a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner?

Metamorphic PR founder and director, Jon Clements, put across his views about being a Chartered Public Relations practitioner – and about the PR profession generally – in an interview with current CIPR president, Stephen Waddingtonhosted on Chartered Institute of Public Relations blog, The Conversation.

The interview is one of a series featuring current Chartered Public Relations practitioners, conducted by Stephen as part of his presidential commitment to promote the value of learning and development as a foundation for professionalism.

Stephen says: “The Chartered Practitioner qualification is pitched by the CIPR as “a benchmark for those working at a senior level and a ‘gold standard’ to which all PR practitioners should strive to reach.”

As part of the selection process to become Chartered, Jon produced a thesis on the topic of corporate reputation which can be viewed and downloaded here.

There are presently fewer than 50 Chartered Public Relations Practitioners certified by the CIPR.
